3 Metronomes
A metronome is a device which can be adjusted to make regular periodic sounds at different speeds.
I wanted to express periodic beats as a visual installation. One other reason I chose a metronomes is that I believe that they have a great design, helping the installation look more beautiful.
I used MAX/MSP in order to enable the computer to receive the input data of the metronome's sound through microphones and turn its sound into visual images. There are three metronomes, the beats of which appear as lines of different lengths and colors on a monitor, depending on the different speeds of the metronomes. For example, if the metronome's speed gets faster, the line becomes longer, or vice versa. The resulting image is a visual representation of various sound beats.
